I'm not into paying over the odds.

It's a first bike as well but I don't want a nail. I've seen a 2007/20k privately owned one I like but the owner wants 2.7k.

Where should I be at?

Its impossible to say without seeing the condition of the bike and the consumables, I've bought cheaper ones which have needed work and more expensive ones which are perfect, if its clean and tidy with no damage, a reasonable service history and decent tyres/chain and sprockets/discs and pads then it's a fair price, have a haggle and see where you end up.

Is it an SV650? If so bear in mind they are dirt cheap new, 50% depreciation over 15 years sounds a bit optimistic, recent used value bounce or not. I'd suggest if it's mint and sub 15k miles £2k is probably nearer the mark. But I'd actually recommend looking at a PCP on a new one, they're less than some people pay on phones.

If it’s near perfect condition with new tyres and chain / sprocket maybe £2.5k. Otherwise it’s a £2k bike.

There is the same model year bike with 9k miles, looks good in the pictures, for £2150 on one of the owners Facebook groups at the moment.

The current generation al7 bikes from 2017 are about £4K so nearly £3k is strong for a 10 year older bike.

I sold a 2009 Gladius, which is basically an SV650, with a little over 5k miles on the clock, 12 months MOT and in excellent condition for £2500 a few weeks back.

I could have easily asked and held out for more, but I priced it sensibly in order to sell quickly, and it was sold within 2 days to a dealer so I could have easily got more for it.

I believe he has it up for over 3k so there was some decent meat left on the bones with it.

I just want a decent reliable daily for my first bike.

It's not this one is it? (9k miles..)

Looking at the mot history I wouldn't buy the suprrbikestore one.

No it was this one. I was incorrect on my mileage assumption too, its 9k not 5k.
