I typically run supercorsa but did a bulk order for other tyres and while at it got some R11s for my road bike

They are more track focused than my supercorsa SPs and my concern is getting the pressures right and grip

Has anyone used these on the road, if so what bike and what pressures? I've fitted them on a little 250 which only weighs about 135kg

160 rear medium compound
120 front soft compound

I thought about going 34 front and maybe 30-32 rear. As said this is road only I know track pressures

Personally, I'd start with the pressures recommended in the bikes handbook.

The bike is 23 years old and tyres have changed a bit. It states 1.9 bar (27.5psi) front & 2.1bar (30.5psi) rear standard.

I read on an aprilia forum about how they run them higher now on road but it wasn't brand specific.

My Tuono 1100 I run 34 34 but different tyres (SP V3s).

I could run handbook pressures but think the front would feel sloppy. Rear might be OK. I think my concern is grip levels and how good they are for summer fast road

I think you'd be hard pressed to out ride most modern tyres with a "sports" focus on dry , even if the tyres are not at the optimal pressure. The fact you think the tyres may need a little more pressure than standard means I would start with standard and add a little to see how things go.

https://www.bridgestone.co.uk/motorcycle-tyres/rac... suggests these are not road legal ? Not sure which country you're in or where the tyres are not road legal, could be USA or UK ?

Although it's been a long time since I used Supercorsas, they were excellent on my track bike, fond memories.

Birky,

I'd be leaning more towards a road compound for the RS.

The light weight and lack of power to the rear wheel means you don't get the same heat "into" the tyre as on a superbike.
So road compounds offer better heating at road speeds vs race tyres.
I've got SuperCorsa's on my RS250 as it's a track/race bike and on track they're good but on road, less than nice. Won't heat up, feel very sketchy and vague...

Ok yeah you're on my wave length and get what I'm going on about

I'm booking the Moto Mafia 2t at Cadwell 12th April as I'm already there 13th on my gsxr so given I've already got the r11s fitted I'll use them as track tyres but after I might switch out for something more road biased and keep the r11s for another track day on it later in the year

Just hoping it holds together and suspension/brakes don't scare me too much

If you use warmers at thr track, especily to the point where the rim feels warm, you'll be good to go.
Pressures are a personal thing, i like around 2.2 hot in the front and between 1.7 and 1.9 hot in the back.
As for the suspension and brakes..... suspenders are ok, ive got standard forks and they are ok. As for the brakes, there's only 2 things to remember...
1. They're from the Duc 916 so plenty strong.
2. You've only got 60bhp.... dont touch them biggrin

I use my old R11's off the track bike on my MT 10.

I run 36 front and 38 rear on the road.

The Bridgestone S22's would be better suited to you 250.
