honda adv mileage

It’s on the high side for the year but nothing to worry about. Engines go on for a long time it’s where it is in regards to chain / sprocket and other consumables life. Cost can add up if it needs them all.
The only real concern is resale as there seems to be a real drop off in demand / price once over 40k miles even though the engine and gearbox will be fine if properly maintained.

That mileage wouldn't concern me in the slightest average just under 4k a year.
A modern Honda if serviced should hit in excess of 100k quite easily.
I've had bikes of all sorts of mileages the most was an old Honda hornet with 65k on, it ran faultlessly but by that sort of mileage other bits were starting to wear out so needed a few quid spending on it but still nothing horrendous.

engines are engineered for 100 000 of miles - it just a hangover from the old days of lots of miles = trouble
bits and bobs - wear our but that is to be expected and just part of owning a machine with lots of exposed bits and a country's obsession with throwing salt at the slightest hint of ice (that only has a limited working temp range anyway) that just rots the exposed bits

I don't think that's high mileage at all, bike engines and gearboxes last for as long as car engines with the proper maintenance. Check it's been maintained properly, but usually the rest of the bike will fall apart or require significant repair before the engine wears out, especially if it's used in winter in the UK.

There was a news article about someone rode an R1 around the world. Then taken apart and all engine parts within factory spec. So they did it again same result. Regular service.
Nick Sanders? I’ve been to a couple of his talks, he’s a legend. Going round the world, including across the Sahara, on an R1 isn’t even the maddest thing he’s done. His bikes looked well used but still worked ok apparently.
