1978… mainly a survivor bike so hopefully won’t be fussy about using it. Rode surprisingly nicely on way home, although it needs a bit of revving to get going! Was smiling on way back, which is a good sign!

I had a DT250 MX of the same vintage back in the day and my mate had a DT175 MX exactly like yours. The 175 was a much more capable off road machine than the 250 due to it's lighter weight.

Very nice indeed mate.

I can remember my first go one one of these after one of my friends passed his test in the early 80s, I had a MTX50 at the time , the 175 seemed massive and looked / sounded very intimidating! Was a memorable expierence.

My friend had the prescence of mind to never sell it and has it to this day.

Very jealous, Congrats.

Anyone who's been riding 4 bangers for a while and goes back to 2 smoke I think finds this!

I race 2 strokes so typically always in the powerband but on the road I cruise a lot more. I really noticed this on my little 250

Lovely - identical to my first bike circa 1990, I think it cost £200

I considered buying another one but the prices were too high for me to justify throwing it into the scenery

Have fun !

Thanks all! It’s a pretty little thing and so light. Planning a little bit of maintenance (decoke exhaust, plug, air filter), razzing around at relatively low speed and trying out its off road credentials :-)

i had one in red.
traded my XL125 S in for one - mistake
took the oil box off, fitted reeds used to mix at the petrol station, prompltly holed the piston

it went the fastest it had ever gone just before it went bang, repaired and then got rid

Like them; also used to like the kmx200? (If I’ve remembered that right).

Nice ....looks well tidy...lots of fond memories of those, I had a black DT175 as a field bike in the mid 80s, was one of the bikes I learnt to ride on after the learning the basics on a mates C90 smile
