I actually read of someone going through this two days ago and i scoffed at his cak-handedness,pillock i thought!Anyone,2 days on i was clearing water drain taps at the bottom of my fuel tanks on my Aprilia Mille.Managed to get tank, still in-situ tilted right up and tied to my shed roof spars, slowly started to drill into the very much blocked drain tap, going very slowly letting the drill bit do the work and the bloody tank slipped and moved!!fff***&ck,drill broke off in hole,a small 2mm bit.
What are my options?Drill bit is recessed into the hole about 3mm.There is no way i'd expect anyone to know this but the water drain tap i'm drilling into has a hex on it,can i unscrew it from the fuel tank base to remove the broken bit?It looks all the world like a bleed nipple with a wider hex on it,any ideas,Thanks!

I'd never think about trying to unscrew it without knowing how it was fixed, but looking at the answer after yours it seems they do come out, thank christ!

Yes!!Bloody thing just screws out!Only reason i was concerned as there's a video on Youtube of a guy with the tank off, drilling through the drain plug to clear it,so that made me think christ,it surely doesn't screw out easily!Job done! Thanks for the replies.
