For those who travel clockwise M25 and get off to Eastbound M40 you will known the slip road is a bit of a tight one.

We were going around it aat about 11 this morning and one of them came round it cranked right over and with his backside doing a Rossi
It lookedquite impressive but at the same time didn't seem right, No blues on, and as we were getting onto the A40 another 4 or 5 shot past up and quickly vasnished towards London again no Blues at all

If the rider is on here ?? or any Met Biker lads then chapeau to you sir ..you made my day

Don't the police only put blues on when they feel the need to? So there isn't a requirement to use them?

I was going to say exactly this. They can be in a hurry but wanting to keep fairly stealthy. Also a bike can get through traffic much faster than a car can, so it doesn't need to use blues and twos to make rapid progress - only to alert other traffic when more risk is involved in whatever they are doing.

How fast were they going? I can't manage more than about 60mph on that bend. I'm always worried in the back of my mind about spilled fuel on the bend and also at the towards where it joins the M40, there are a few undulations in the road and the bend tightens... both about the same time.

They may have been going fast just to enjoy that bend.

That is a great bend, reminds me of a group ride we did once where we had jumped on the motorway and went round that Bend I believe around 65/70, I remember thinking fking hell I've misjudged this, my body position was ste but fortunately I made it round, however that's not the best part. Picture this, three bikes in a line all going for it and going round us all or at least keeping pace a bloody vintage V12 xjs. Must have looked a real sight. Thinking back, if someone had come off that had fatality written all over it.

My mate who trains most of Northants police riders is like that, may well have been a drill or simulation as part of training, they don't hang about.

Sounds cool.

I once saw a curtain side artic lose its load of 2m diameter rolls of paper on that bend. They had rolled straight out the side.

My lad was doing about 45/50 in the BMW and he went past a good 10mph faster..it looked good and he was cranking it well over ( is that the expression???)

Were the riders leaning into, or out of the corner?
