No issues with quality parts, My MV has most plastic parts as carbon, its still as shiny as when it was new in 2015.
No real downside other than cost if you break it....
Thanks that's what I was hopingNo real downside other than cost if you break it....
I've found carbon parts are frequently cheaper than new OEM parts, in fact not much more than the cost of respraying in many cases
My old S1000R had a good amount of carbon on it and the front mudguard had a few stonechips in the laquer, but you really had to look closely to spot them. The laquer of the heel guards on the rearsets wore through a bit too, but the carbon beneath was perfect.
The only downsides is that it makes your balls tighten when you wreck them in a crash.

What about the fake carbon wrap stuff?
I saw a wrapped Speed triple recently - it actually looked quite good! I assume its a pain to stick on, what with air bubbles etc, but does it suffer from UV/weather exposure??
I think you'd struggle to wrap lots of parts - I considered hydro dipping but most people suggested it would harm resale and I never keep things longI saw a wrapped Speed triple recently - it actually looked quite good!
