Do you wear earplugs on a ride?

Always unless I'm just riding around town.

Been a while since we did this :}

Not as often as I should, my laziness, and disorganisation which means I can never find them when I need them really annoys me on this front.

Always, I've been using custom made plugs pretty much since I passed my test nearly 5 years ago.

Moulded gel ones. They're the mutt's nuts.

I have a pair for work and a pair for the bike. Old kinder eggs made fantastic cases, but they're looking tatty now and I don't think you can get them any more.

Always have worn the cheap foam ones. I have no idea how people do long fast rides without them.

Always. My ears are already damaged from riding without earplugs so the last thing I want to do is make them worse.

Always, anyone who doesn't wear them for any riding other than round town is a numpty.

Yep, always.

Got my custom ones from here, though I’m pretty sure I paid less than 40 euro.

They’re much better than the filtered ones I had done in the uk, completely snug and lower profile. The filtered ones can dislodge when my ears fold over putting the helmet on.

Always. 3M 1100 foam plugs are about £20 for a box of 200 pairs

Always - wind noise at 60+ hurts after a few minutes and I'll get tinnitus for hours / days if I don't

I’ve tried them but never really bothered.

In my defence I’ve been riding for many years and ear plugs weren’t a thing when I started and like some other innovations they’ve just passed me by.

I’m not a dinosaur but for instance will occasionally wear jeans on the bike rather than get kitted up..why..because I’ve done it before and got away with it.

Similar with ear plugs…I’m mid 60’s and I’d say my hearing is as good as most in that age group.

I've never understood this reasoning. Wearing jeans means you MAY suffer more injury IF you crash.

Riding without earplugs at more than about 30mph means your ears WILL be damaged!

Riding since I was 16 (now 31) and only started a month or two ago. It was due to the appalling wind noise generated by the screen on my VFR1200F. I find I tend to ride considerably faster with them in now. Never bother for short journies but usually now wear then for longer ones.

Always, well probably for about the last 15 years. Usually buy a 100 or so pairs off eBay every couple of years.

I probably started wearing them when I raced, weirdly they made me quicker as I couldn't hear the engine revving that hard.
