Discounts on new bikes? Possibly Triumph

I’m considering another bike, probably something modern-retro like a Triumph or a HD Sportster S.

Are bikes experiencing the same high demand vs supply that cars are, and is there much chance of a discount at the moment? Anecdotally, buying in winter should help but is that true?

Ring up a few dealers and ask, there's usually a deal to be had.

Triumph is one of the few brands that actually has bikes available at the moment. Most of the other big brands are struggling for stock.
So, it's worth ringing and asking (you've nothing to lose) but I wouldn't expect much/any discount as dealers all well aware that you haven't got other options, and there are plenty of punters looking to buy.

It’s coming up to the new 22 reg plates so a lot of customers are hanging off a few weeks till then. (I know I am) so it’s maybe not such a good time as you’d think as the dealers will be expecting to shift a few bikes.

However you don’t seem 100% set on the bike you want so you’re in a better position than most.

If you don’t want new there will be a lot of trade ins coming in as well.

Depends on who you ask, one dealer wouldn't budge, another agreed to the deal I wanted.

Yep, not got a definite purchase in mind yet. so will still need to have a couple of test rides.
