Passed my test April last year, purchased and insured my MT09 in June.

MCE are cancelling my insurance end of Jan due to them going belly up and I'm faced with a bit of a quandary.

1st year insurance was ~£550
Playing around on comparison sites I still have to declare licence held less than 1 year, 0 years no claims so quotes are roughly the same.

Quote drops to £320 once I have a years no claims.

I've always paid yearly for insurance but it seems like I could save money by only insuring for 5 months, then getting a full years policy in June.
Either that or I'll have to have paid for ~19months of insurance as someone with 0 years no claims.

Thoughts? Is it easy enough to cancel/reinsure etc or does it generally involve cancellation fees and stuff? It's never something I've had to do.

That's not how it works. See the other thread for recommendations of brokers who will take the pro rated NCD into account
