..not the touring SX model.

Seriously considering one of these, the rarity, technical aspects and fugly look of the bike really appeals.

My understanding is the 2018+ models got an up/down quickshifter and Ohlins? 2019 onwards models have a colour TFT screen.

Any other notable changes worthwhile factoring in? Any aftermarket parts considered as essential?

Being a Kawasaki (and not a KR1) im assuming the motor is strong despite the charging?

Id keep it standard and use it for solo blasts on a fine sunny day, much like the RD500 which alas I will have to part with to fund it.

Pictures of your bikes would be great!

Had mine since 2016. cheap to get serviced. MPG about 33mpg. compared to my blade at 50+

have done the TT on it, went to see a mate in Germany on it in 2020. 1400 miles in 4 days. manageable.

Comfy, but does get a lot of attention. and a bike I don't think I will sell.

A few things, stupid fast, wants to lift the front wheel in all gears apart from 6th. happy sitting at 150+ on the autobahn. loves a drink as above with MPG.

I have just changed the front screen to a larger one, as standard is very low. had a few end cans on it. they come with a akro as standard free when I bought mine. so standard exhaust has never been on.

Had mine remapped as they suffer like most bikes with emissions drop on the power or something I was told. plus they limit the power in the first 4 gears. And removed speed limiter. result with cat still in place is 242BHP at rear wheel

Also a email tidy has gone on.

I have a racefit exhaust on most of the time. very fruity.

And was surprised to find out they don't sell the H2 anymore when at the NEC bike show last Dec

almost 6 years later and love mine, the looks, power and sound. chirping from the supercharger never gets old

When they first came out i thought they were fugly. However when i test rode it i just had to have one! It took a couple of years though but when I was offered one in Its crate still with the grey frame, brand new in 2019 i just couldn't turn it down.
The power is just instantaneous and very addictive

Ive added full PPF, the Yoshi end can, had the seat remade with gel insert as the OE is like sitting on concrete after a couple of hours, tail tidy and the crash protection.

Stunning to ride and it just grows on you.

I agree with you , I wasnt that fussed about the looks in 2016 but now they really flick my switch.

They seem to have appreciated in value this last couple of years from what I can make out as well.

Only slight concern I have is comfort, id also look at a alternative seat and Kawaski offer some bar risers as well.

When you consider my H2 was 22k. people said HOW much. but looks at other ltr bikes. I'm hoping the H2 keeps it value but never thought about it when I bought it.

If you do many miles the 32k service is mega bucks. Like 2k + I think. mines only done 9k.

Wow I've been looking at these too. I rode my mates SX but didn't like the riding position as (compared to my ZZR) I found you are plonked on the top and don't feel part of the bike like you do with the Zed.

I'm recently fobbing myself off with man-maths and buying a few bikes to tuck away, hoping that they will appreciate or hold their money. There is an H2 on ebay for £15k which seems like a decent deal as you can pick up SX's for around £9k now. The looks have grown on me and I really would like one preferably bog standard with less than 4k miles.

Is there anything specifically to look out for besides history and general condition? smile

Can anyone tell me how the spec of these bikes has changed since they were first on sale?
For example changes to engine, electrics, etc.
Thanks.

2019 update sounds like the one worth having - more power, Brembo Stylema, TFT dash.

Yes…insurance, im 53, low risk area, full NCB, I can only get quotes from 2 companies, one was over £8,000…as a perspective I paid £170 for the new Speed Triple back in September.

From what ive found, the claimed extra BHP never translated to the rear wheel…they all seem to make around the same at the tyre…all easy to tweak and tune as well.

Key change for me would be 2017 when the up/down quickshifter with rear ohlins was part of the offering.

I think the earlier models look nicer as well.

Im still hunting and trying hard to sell the 500..

yikes thanks I will run some quotes. Looking for a riders policy that covers all my bikes but I doubt they will included an H2 at this rate.

That's totally mad, I don't understand that at all. I could understand a bit of an additional premium but not that much. I pay £230 for my ZZR1400!
