For anyone who can't be bothered to watch it. Someone has crashed a Ducati in a single vehicle incident. The bike has evident damage but still runs, the rider is clearly disorientated and possibly injured but against firm advice rides away, albeit with some difficulty.

The comments on the video say 'keep his keys, the guy's clearly in no state to ride', but can you legally do this.

May well be the right thing to do in this case, or if someone's drunk or drugged which he may also be. But is it legal? If so where do you draw the line? If I had a minor off with no injury or head impact I'd be aggrieved if some busybody decided to protect me from myself and confiscated my keys.

I ride a Ducati not that that is relevant but if I fell off like that and my friends let me ride off after falling off for the second time they would not be very good friends.

I think it was crazy to let him ride off like that.

Not motorbike but mountain bike.

A mate went off by himself one morning to do some downhill stuff, was woken up by his wife when she came home from work that evening to find him sleeping on the sofa looking like something the cat had dragged in.

In the intervening hours he had chucked himself and his bike down a mountainside, driven himself to the local hospital to be checked over and had then walked out and gone home having told the nurses he was going home and his mum would look after him (he hadn't lived at home for over ten years at this point).

He has no recollection of anything after starting his run from the top of the hill and only found out what had happened after his wife took him back to the same hospital he had been in a few hours before.
Apparently though, he had been fully compos mentis while in hospital the first time round, laughing and joking with the nurses about how much of a row his mum would give him for wrecking his bike.
He remembers none of it.

I havent watched the whole video again, but iirc he crashed again not long after getting back on?

Wasn't it also his 1st ride on his brand new bike and hadn't ridden before? Or only had very limited riding experience?

I think it was a combination of adrenaline, ego and possible concussion that caused to him ride away after the 1st crash.

"The cost of an ambulance ride increased slightly from $1,185 to $1,211 over the last decade — an average of $1,189 a year"

Probably puts a lot of people off getting checked out if they think they're ok, even Ducati owners!

More dropped it before he managed to set off again, the classic turning right out of Rykas car park situation where the ground is about three inches lower than you expect it to be due to camber.

His mates probably know him best and made a judgement call. If the bloke was stubborn enough not even have a bit of a sit down then trying to physically stop him would gave ended in a bit of a wrestle, fuelled by adrenalin and embarrassment on his part.

But the rider could still have sat down for a while, and gathered his senses. If I was there I would not let him ride again until at least several minutes had passed.

He could hardly walk. Think at least a sit down for 10 mins would have been wise.

First thought that came ot my head was perhaps he hasnt a license, insurance or in some way was riding illegally(drink/drugs as suggested) and just wanted to clear off before the police perhaps drove past or where called.

Would certainly be the wise option. Just reminded me of a very similar video from a few years back. Guy crashed looked a little disorientated and I think a car stopped wanting to phone for an ambulance. He pleaded with them not to and got back on his bike and shot off.

Doesn't look to me like they even no the bloke. Anyone letting someone back on a bike after that ass crack showing should be ashamed of them selves, what a prick.
