I've got a pair of Interphone F5MC that I use as a pillion (or occasional bike to bike) intercom. It works pretty well, the only real issue is the amount of background noise that gets transmitted. Wind noise and the sound of other vehicles passing gets translated into a sort of echoey bathroom background sound, and above say 50mph it just gets annoying and I end up turning the intercom off. The mics both have the supplied foam guards on them.

Do any other devices offer better noise suppression, so that it's more or less quiet unless someone is speaking, or is this just a fact of life with these things ?

My friends and I run PackTalk Bolds and don't have that issue at all. Occasionally we'll hear exhaust noise but that's about it. Maybe a little wind noise is a visor is up at high speed but that's v rare.

It does seem that what is missing from wireless intercoms vs wired in ones, is a squelch control.
