Not sure if anyone looking for a BMW in Dec but it’s the only time I buy my bikes and cars due to end of year targets.

The joint Alton/Maidenhead lot have a 40 plus bike target to hit for 2021. I have just had 2k more than I paid for my GSA plus a new one for less than 17k. If you are in the market then worth doing a deal with them. I am not linked or affiliated and bought my last bike from Park Lane for info.

Enjoy

I NEARLY bought a bike from them last week but the condition wasnt quite as pictured when I viewed the bike in the flesh but I did like the dealership and Keith, the sales chap I dealt with, certainly more genuine and more helpful than the clinical , totally cooperate image Cotswold BMW exude but the bike and deal was good so I purchased it anyway .

Could do with shifting my Speed Triple 1200 sooner rather than later now mind...

Interesting, I looked at a GS today at another MD which I thought was a reasonable deal but I'll take a look there too. Is that on both new & used or new only?

i have been or still am.

i was tracking over the last few months pre-reg 1250 rt (yeah whatever) and noticed that some dealers will reduce each month where as some are still at the same offer price

I'm not sure if they have just forgot to reduce the price as the months pass by or they are just waiting for someone to offer close to the asking price for something that really ought to be £2000 + cheaper by the passage of time?

Once their sales tail off the prices will drop in line with other dealers fairly quickly, guess people are still paying the higher price (for now).

Same here, the closest thing they have to what I want has 3 times the mileage and is £2k more expensive - they'd have to do a big ol' deal on that! Maybe that's why they've left themselves with such a big year-end target to meet.

My dealer told me floods wiped out an electronic suspension factory, so there's going to be a shortage of top end new bikes for them to sell coming through.
Perhaps this is causing the sale price of the premium models to harden.

I bought a brand new gen 2 S1000RR towards the end of the year, a few years ago. The gen 3 was coming, so I haggled hard and got a great deal. But afterwards the sales wallys blanked me whenever the bike went back for a service. I got a take it or leave it attitude when I enquired about a new gen 3 a while later too. Service reception always got a good review though.

I went to the Maidenhead one regularly for about 6 or so years until the pandemic and a job change. The service/parts team were a decent lot, and most of the sales too, other than one or two slightly odd chaps. Although saying all that, one of my first experiences there was showing them their own "BMW Club" magazine or whatever that they'd left out, where there was an article on the (well known in K circles) hot start issue, and the remedy. Until then they'd had no insight into my hot start issue biggrin.

Service-side seemed to go somewhat down hill after about 2018 as a few people left and it felt to me that they were missing an onboarding or other process to ensure continuity of the quality of service/engagement they previously had. Luckily that coincided with my job change and I switched to Alton for a bit, although I was then doing about a quarter of the miles so only saw them once for a service, which went fine.

Bought two bikes from Maidenhead, one a great deal, the other me getting over-excited. Bought a GS from Alton, just days before the first lockdown and subsequent redundancy and perma-wfh life biggrin.

They also mentioned that they were looking to shift some bikes when I was in there last month for a service. Hmmm. Got me thinking now.

I was there two weeks ago, after attending a sales event at Vines in Guildford. The Maidenhead guys are definitely up for doing deals and they seem a very decent bunch.

Unfortunately, Bahnstormer were unable to match the deal from Vines so I ordered a new R1250RS from Vines last week. Should arrive later this month.

I'll do my servicing, etc. with Bahnstormer as they are closer to me.

I had a chat with them today and they've offered something like 9-10% off the sticker price on a new in stock bike, although the offer for my old one is a bit disappointing (think it's too old for them to retail so would go to a trader). Not enough of a deal to be a no-brainer, so I'm still thinking about it.

I was initially offered 8% without asking. My trade in was £12500 for a ‘19 plate 1250GSA and faired well against other dealers. It’s 3 owner 4K miles. They had no standard bikes so they ended up trying to deal on a £20500 spec one. they couldn’t show more than 10% off new on invoice and so raised my trade in to a silly price so I ended the day with £3k price to change. As mine was due a service in 2 months and the valve check, I feel it’s actually nearer £2500 to change. Sure there will be a GSA 1300 in 2022 but I’m always looking to keep these bikes inside warranty as it’s my daily.

That's a great price to change really considering vat on the new bike.

Totally no brainer to get a new bike at that change over price.

That is a great deal... My bike has too many miles on it for them to retail, so I think there's less room for manoeuvre in my case as they're relying on a trade bid for the px.
