It’s just been announced that Fred is retiring from motorcycle commentary after 56 years.
I for one will solely miss his excellent and informative commentary that I have listened to from being a child in the 80’s.

I have particularly fond memories of Fred’s commentary when I worked abroad and could pick up the live stream on line. It was really something to look forward to.

Very best wishes in your retirement Fred.

Right up there with Murray Walker. Genuinely enjoyed hearing Fred's voice over the years.

An absolute legend of a commentator, it will not be the same at all going to a bike meeting anywhere and not hearing Suz U ki or the profound amount of information this great man has up his sleeve.

As with most people like this, he will be the last to admit he is anything at all, but we will all miss him, I certainly will and he deserves some sort of recognition, not sure what but he does for me!

Whilst it’s sadly the end of an era, the question is who will take over. My preference would be Julian Ryder.

Always interesting to listen to.
