I recently made another bike purchase (3/11), when the bike was delivered I filled in the new keepers address details etc.. and the driver retained it so the bike shop could post to DVLA. The usual process. I took a picture of the V5C so I could try declaring it SORN, but the reference number on the front, and the number on the green new keeper section doesn’t work. I think it’s because it’s an old style V5C, it still shows the last registered keepers name & address details.

So I waited a couple of weeks but hadn’t received the new V5, and it was still showing as untaxed on the government website. So I completed the form V890 & sent that to the DVLA along with the green new keeper section. That was a couple of weeks ago, and still no new V5 & it still shows as untaxed.

I’m just a little concerned about the bike still showing as untaxed/SORN’d. Am I worrying too much as there seems little else I can do right now, and I believe it can take up to 6 weeks to get a new V5C?

You're probably right, I just wanted to check I wasn't missing something with getting a sorn done. I was able to sorn the other bikes almost immediately.

I'll wait for the V5 wink
