It would help out for leaving him with a nice round 200 podiums and 90 wins in the MotoGP class...

My OCD would approve!

I don't see it happening though...

The championship has been won already. So there's another reason why they could do it....

They race as per usual but "finish" one lap short. They keep their places and let him through to first place. Although if he has a race like at Aragon the field could just line up on the main straight in a guard of honour...!

Hardly a pity win...just a thank you from the other riders, and a nice gesture, it changes nothing for the championship, but gains a ton of goodwill from Rossi fans. I agree it's unlikely to happen though, Rossi may hate the idea..

In his book he does complain vociferously about Honda not going through with giving him his 2001 title winning NSR as was agreed either for winning Suzuka or just the title, it was a small part of his negotiations believe it or not and they kept promising him the bike but never delivered it, and he really really wanted it!!

In one of the pics from today you can see him sitting on his 03 bike looking down at that NSR wonder if they did ever give him it, i somehow doubt it!

I can't see that happening somehow!

Too many riders trying to make their own history.

Sometimes you need to know when to stop at the top!

Better idea, Vale turns up on Sunday and has sniffed some strong smelling salts, gives it everything, and finishes off in style.

Maybe Michelin could run up a special tyre overnight.....

I think Vale would prefer a Bridgestone...

No setup win for Rossi please. If they do anything it should be after the race and make Fabio's slow down lap setup from winning the championship with the red carpet, video on the big screens, fireworks and gold helmet look like a kids party. Rossi's the last racer going who rode the 500's. Absolute respect.

Does anyone really think that Valentino Rossi would want the grid to gift him a race "win". After all he has achieved?

Nope, I'm with you and the others on that, his record to me is what it is as of today bar a genuine miracle on Sunday, I just want to see one of the greatest sportsman of our generation (and possible ever) finish and be able to tell everyone how 'verreeee 'appeeee' he is, will miss the fella .....
