Has anyone else bought a pair of Daytona boots with the raised (60mm) heal ? The reason I ask is I've had to move the gearlever up 2 splines so I can get my foot under the gearlever to change up.
What I'm asking is.........does the boot soften up with use so I can put my gearlever back where it belongs ?

No I havnt worn those myself, just other daytona boots. I have had regular boots that have required me to move the gearlever though. i thought it was just part of the routine adjusting of the controls to fit when you get a new bike.

Why are you in a rush to move the lever back if it fits fine?

I agree, just because the gear lever came in that position its designed so you can adjust it to fit, surely if its comfortable to use and operates correctly then there is no issue?

It just seems odd

Thanks for the replies, I'll just get used to how it looks then

I think I adjusted the gear lever on every bike I ever owned. They always seem to be too low for my boot to fit underneath.

I bought a bike from a guy who apparently had limited movement in his left leg, the gear lever was set ridiculously high. Fortunately I didn't have to ride it far before I could adjust it.

OP, gear levers are on splines so you can adjust the angle to what's comfortable for you (which might be influenced by the boots you're wearing) - set it and forget it.

60mm heal, are you sure?
The Cuban heal shouldn’t make much difference to the gearshift height anyway as the peg is on the arch of your foot isn’t it?

Bought a normal pair of Daytona boots recently. I find the boot very deep especially around the toe area. The sole is thick and the leather of the boot sits high over my foot due to it's construction. Although they are very comfortable I found them awkward with the gear lever on the Thruxton but fine so far on the BMW. I'm hoping they will soften up with use. Beautifully made, but they should be at the price!

Do you mean the Daytona Evo GP boots with the rounded heel? If so they are designed for race use, they slide easier in a crash and designed to stop your foot “sticking” and twisting in a slide but are a nightmare to walk in, because racers don’t really walk round in their race boots.

They’re designed for use with rear sets, not road pegs.

They’ll be the Daytona M-Stars. They have a heel lift but also a platform sole which explains the issue with the gear lever.

Any good retailer will let a customer try one on their bike as this sort of problem is common.

I’ve had a pair of these for 17 years (!) and whilst they do become as comfortable as old slippers, the gear-lever position remains the same. They’re still waterproof & smart & I’m convinced that they’re completely unf*ckable!

Can't help with the OP's question, but as I seem to be the exception I just wanted to add I've got a pair of Daytona Roadstar GTX boots and I hate them. There's not much protection on them, but what little reinforcement there is seems to dig into my ankle. I have had one off and the only injury I suffered was to my foot. Nowhere near as comfortable as my old Alpinestars that I only returned as the Gore Tex failed at 18 months. From my limited experience so far I'm not in a hurry to try another pair, and can't wait to replace them with something else.

Some interesting replies.........to the poster that thinks im insecure ........please accept my apologies biggrin

I only wear them when I ride my Speed Triple , which seems rather tall and top heavy compared to my Fireblade and Fazer., that extra bit of height adds a bit of confidence And thank you all for the replies
