What is the best place to get a number plate? Needs to be fully road legal and decent quality.
Are JDM Plates any good? Popped up on a quick Google search.
I used JDM a couple of years ago. Very helpful and quick . Plate is smaller than the barn doors the dealers use but fully legal with all the correct info on it and good quality. Are JDM Plates any good? Popped up on a quick Google search.

Never had a problem with ebay number plates, £10/£11. They can properly only be sold as 'novelty' on there but they're to the correct specifications, and reflective.
The majority have been sold as fully legal for yearsWhich is a pain as I like plain plates without a logo on them - not strictly legal but no one cares

The one I bought was floppy as feck. Had to buy another one, this time not on ebay. You have to read the ad - many are flexible - used for green laning

Semi-related, some suppliers offer smaller 7"x5" 'novelty' plates. In practice do the boyz in blue have a problem with these, as long as the bike is being ridden respectfully? I want to tidy up the back end and the stock size of 9"x6.5" would foul the rear wheel. (I'm in London).
I use that size and have never had an issue. Dog Star said:

I use that size and have never had an issue. Even when I was stopped by the ultimate anti speed-nazi cop who gave me a full-on 'speed kills' lecture and sent me to court to receive a 'lengthy ban' (actually got away with 6 points + hefty fine), nothing was mentioned about the plate, or dark visor for that matter.
That said I'm not in London and rarely ride in any city so attitudes maybe more relaxed...?
Stock is often more like 10" x 8" I've found with the dealer name on the bottom etc.
I've used 8" x 6" on several bikes the last few years with no issues, and one 7" x 5" which was iffy to my eyes. All passed MoT without comment. Only ever been pulled once by a police on a bike and that was near Poole on a biker night in 1999 on a GSF1250 because the rear plate was tinted, i.e. Dark yellow. It was actually 8" x 6" too but that wasn't mentioned. Just got told to change it, which I did.
There are 6" x 4" available but they just look obviously too small, IMHO. The digits all in one line not only looks daft I think, it's actually illegal at ANY size.

My standard when stopping someone is if I say to myself ‘that’s taking the piss’ they’ll get a stop. Their attitude to the offence depends how it’s dealt with. It’s normally only when it’s on one line for me though. You of course get some who will stick you on anything other than 100% legal.
