Hybrid bikes: An interesting concept?

I've just finished reading this. Imagine the massively high revs and sound of a 250cc or 400cc four banger but with the electrically augmented torque of a 1000cc Vtwin. Or being able to "sail" along on a little bit of electrical power when cruising along a motorway at a constant speed. I kind of like the idea of that.

No thanks.
They won’t be 15k rpm screamers. Parallel twin plodders more like.
Mpg isn’t a concern on bikes so it’s answering a problem which doesn’t exist.
Unless alternative fuel is a possibility bikes will be better off full electric.
I don't agree. Being stuck in the dark and rain, in the middle of no-where, when the all electric bike has run out of juice doesn't fill me with excitement. Being able to complete the journey using the parallel twin plodder does. They won’t be 15k rpm screamers. Parallel twin plodders more like.

Having a parallel twin plodder with the torque of a large V-Twin from the electric motor also sounds like something worth having. I think this may be a good idea with a real future.
