… that time of year I guess.

can someone recommend me some winter gloves? - I’ve done some research but haven’t found a pair (Judging by the reviews) that doesn’t have a fiddly cuff or liners that comes out when you take the gloves off. Thus I’m turning to piston heads as the oracle of recommendations!

If you can afford them, Spidi NK-6 gloves are the best I’ve tried. The drawstring closure makes them hassle-free to put on and off yet seals out water and drafts. ‘Feel’ is good for a thermal glove, and the quality feel is excellent. Also, the waterproof liner (OutDry®) can’t pull out because it’s bonded directly to the outer.

Heated grips and maybe some hand guards. Riding with thick winter gloves is horrible.

I'll second heated gloves, I've used them for a few years now and they are great. I have a pair of Gerbings, but I think there are more brands out now offering heating in gloves.

You need to look for phrases like 'Outdry' 'Gore Grip' and I think there's another one but I can't remember - basically the membrane, insulation and liner are all bonded to the glove.

Having said that, I did have to return a pair of Halverssons because the liner detached in one glove within a week or two.

Totally agree, if you can put up with the faff. I have the Keis ones, they are great, but it would have to be a proper cold day for me to be using them as i cba with all the faffs putting them on, plugging them up, then sorting your cuffs out, and then repeating for the other glove, now with a gloved hand.

Generally, i use the rev it kyptonite 2's in winter. Goretex, short cuff, armoured etc

This and thats coming from a southern fairy. Heated grips are nice on the palms, goretex gloves etc all help but there comes a point where nothing takes that horrible numb feeling you get

I got recommended two brands that both do heated gloves and went with gerbing. Honestly no bull they are game changers. Expensive like a modern mesh intercom but once you have you wont ride without

Rukka when it’s mild, Keis G701s when it’s cold or wet. Perfect

25yrs of all year round commuting here, all weathers.

I've had heated grips for many years, but nothing is better than my Gerbing heated gloves, they are a total gamechanger.

It's a bit of a faff to plug the wires in to the cuffs and plug into the bike, but once you have done it a few times you get used to it.

I would go for the longer cuff version if buying again however; I went 'short cuff' XR model which are fine, but the longer cuff XRL would suit my Dainese textile jacket better.

My only regret having bought them is that I didn't buy them years ago, I struggled through many a winter with all sorts of gloves that just weren't up to it.

Heated grips, plus three season (not winter) Goretex gloves. Has worked for me for the last 10 years!

I bought some gore tex gloves at the end of winter and was a bit disappointed to find my fingers getting cold on a recent short ride at about 9 degs c…

I find the heated grips help - but don’t fix the ends of your fingers.

I have now ordered some Tucano Urbano handlebar muffs and hope that these along with the heated grips allow me to luxuriate through winter in some feel some leather summer gloves. Will report back…

Thanks for the responses,

I guess its possible I could be the only person that doesn’t like heated gloves - I had some gerbing ones a few years ago and I didn’t really like them.

My Triumph has bash gaurds and also heated grips, but tend to find that the tops of my hands get cold on a long ride in winter.. the Klim gloves look like a good option - I’ll do a bit of research on those, apparently what’s quite good about them is that they are optimised for heated grips; less material on the palms and more on the backs of your hands.

I have fitted hand guards and already I’m using the heated grips less. This bodes well for the winter, although I find that the heated grips can leave the fingertips still feeling chilly unless I make a conscious effort to wrap my hands closely round the grip.

They're all utter ste.

The ONLY things that work are either heated grips and muffs or heated grips and heated gloves.

I have Gerbing Xrl so have the option to wire in or plug in the batteries into the cuff. My previous so called winter gloves never get used.

They really are an utter game changer.

They're not sexy, they're a bit bulky, but I have tested my Spada Enforcer over a 1.5-2h motorway commute (with heated grips) and they never let me down.

I also crashed in them and they help up very well.

How have people got on with the heated inner gloves ?

Most heated gloves look pretty crap, protection wise and the heated liners seem the obvious answer, I was looking at the Keis

Yeh these are what I have got. I went touring france 2019 about Feb time and it was 2-3 degrees early morning. Didn't even realise it was that cold until I see the sparkle on the roads. Only run mine on amber too

Once you've got your hands sorted, what sort of temps do you guys ride down to?

Not worried about ice etc.?
