Bike makeover in London
Discussion
Hi all. I have a 2005 VFR800 which is in fantastic mechanical condition but, because it sits outside all the time, beginning to look incredibly tatty.
I don't want to replace it, given that it only really gets used for commuting but it is now looking woundingly ugly.
Can anyone recommend a bike-friendly body shop that can re-spray the panels and go over all the scuffed/rusty/faded ancillary bits to make it look respectable again?

You'd be faster and cheaper getting second hand panels from Ebay. Or trying a vinyl wrap place. When I asked myself similar questions a few years back folk were either not prepared to touch it or you were £150 for the tank
Trouble is with second hand panels, is that they could be in the same state. You've got to get lucky. My local tame mechanic thinks that the plastics on bikes that are left outside go brittle as the more extreme heat/cold cycles and UV exposure harden the plastics and make them brittle.
Wrapping is a solution, but also on the facebook forums some are saying that the chinese fairing sets aren't that bad.
