K tech piston kits
Discussion
I have Ktech piston/valve kits in both my Ducatis, one Showa the other Ohlins and they made a big improvement although I did also change the springs (previously too stiff) at the same time so that no doubt contributed to the improvement.
The Ohlins set in particular were much better, feeling firmer, more planted and yet more supple at the same time, whilst the Showa set are definitely more supple than before but not quite like the Ohlins, they are a smaller piston size though so that probably accounts for the difference.
I'd definitely recommend.

Do it! They're one of the best bang for buck upgrades that you can make to a set of OEM fork internals. Your next step up would be a cartridge kit but you're looking at a fitted price of £700+.
You will not need a revalve with the kit though - the K-Tech piston kits (for your bike) come with the valve assemblies and shim stacks ready to go for both the rebound and compression circuits.
I would also recommend going with a set of K-Tech linear springs to match your weight but it depends on your weight as to what spring rate you will need and if you'll benefit from actually changing them.
One thing to bear in mind with the K-Tech piston kits (and their cartridge kits) is that no K-Tech dealer can supply them for you to fit yourself as they're intended to be fitted by trained dealers only.

Thank you. On the OEM forks I don't have compression adjustment do the kits come with it or is it the internals that they affect? Any idea in layman's terms what benefit I'd get from them? Forks are a bit harsh compared to the rear. Already have the 9.5 or whatever rate k tech linear springsYou will not need a revalve with the kit though - the K-Tech piston kits (for your bike) come with the valve assemblies and shim stacks ready to go for both the rebound and compression circuits.

Sorry, just seen this.K-Tech do produce aftermarket (and better than OEM) compression adjusters for a lot of bikes but with your bike not having compression adjustment as standard, you cannot fit these - the only way that you would add compression adjustment would be to look at an aftermarket fork cartridge kit. Compression damping would then be adjusted on the top cap.
Andreani produce a kit for your bike which would replace all of the standard fork internals and top caps, giving full adjustability over preload, rebound and compression and would be supplied with linear fork springs to match your weight. £725.00 including fitting though...
The K-Tech piston kits offer a plusher, more compliant and more comfortable ride, without sacrificing stability or handling. Basically, it is win win, with the only downsides being the cost.
If you've already got the K-Tech springs fitted, happy days - you can use these with a piston kit
