Help please - reasonably urgent
Discussion
This is a sad story, I’m afraid.
In March, we got a call from Northern Ireland Police to tell us that my wife’s ex husband (and my stepdaughters father) was killed in a motorbike accident. All subject to courts, but it would appear he was overtaking a telehandler when it turned right across him.
He died intestate, but we’ve worked out his daughter (my stepdaughter) is sole beneficiary. Along with trying to manage this from across the water, we’re fortunate to have some good friends over there who have been moving heaven and earth to sort affairs out.
Of the bikes he had, most were relatively low value, but he did have an MV Augusta F3 800 (‘EAS’? given the V5, which is all we’ve seen). The bike was apparently bought as crashed and repaired, but with loads of receipts etc for repairs. I have no idea if it is subject to a category. It has slightly under 8k on it.
Someone is interested in buying it. I know cars, but have bugger all idea about bikes. Apparently (according to a mate who knows classic cars, but not bikes), it’s in extremely good condition.
A brief google suggests anything from 8k to 20k. Help? Given its crash/repair status I was thinking an uncrashed value minus 10%? Or 20%?
I’m really sorry if this comes across as callous - we’re just trying to raise as much as we can for his daughter, who has her own problems.
All help would be extremely gratefully received.

It’ll be devalued considerably more than 20%, more like 45-50%.
No probs, just trying to work out what a reasonable offer would be. Apparently it needs a new chain and tyres, but like I say I’m clueless on this.Edit to add - this isn’t the bike he passed away on.

I’d try giving these a ring. Down in Dorset, so may not be able to help with the sale of it, but may know of someone who could help. I’ve only heard good things about them.

EAS basically just means it has a quickshifter

Thanks for the tip. Bike is in NI but I assume values are similar. We have an awful lot of stuff to clear out, so I could bring it over anyway if need be (emphasis being in realising as much as I can for my stepdaughter, not me by the way).https://www.motocorsa.co.uk/

I don't know MV buyers but I've sold a lot of Cat N bikes assuming everything is fixed then it tends to only knock £500 (10% ish) off the value of sub £5k bikes, a bit more for Cat SIs there any current paperwork faff for buying & selling secondhand vehicles in and out of Northern Ireland. I know new vehicles is currently a pain.
Sad story indeed. Just a thought , but surely the administrator(s) of the deceased's estate could make a claim on his bike insurance and/or the blame party for the accident ? Saves trying to get a fair valuatio/finding buyer remotely etc?
Has that already happened, bike repaired and now for sale? Or am I missing summat?

Thanks for the comments and help offered.Has that already happened, bike repaired and now for sale? Or am I missing summat?
The MV isn’t the bike he passed away on, it was one of his others that is still impounded as part of the fatal accident investigation. That is obviously a total write off, and even if it wasn’t we wouldn’t feel right in selling it on. A separate claim will be made for that.

bang the details into webuyanybike, add a % for a private sale
Thanks for the tip - comes out as 4.2k (I put it in as below average as apparently it needs a damn good clean, new tyres and chain - I haven’t seen it as it’s currently in NI and I’m in Cumbria). We have an interested local buyer, so will see what he thinks at 4k as a starting price (to account for the category).
