Heads up for anyone going tomorrow. Because of the weather forecast they’ve moved things to the morning.
BSB super pole starts at 10:30am and the BSB race is at 12:30pm rather than the original 4pm-ish
With everything else shoved around to fit. The side car race will be playing submarines if it happens.
See you there and bring your brolly
smile

I'm giving it a miss this weekend and gonna go to the CRMC at Croft on Sunday instead.

Have a belter of a weekend though.

My crystal ball tells me that Lee Bob will get a podium in race 2 and Brookes, Taz and O'Hallaran will each take a win.

Sunday's racing is live on Freeview - Quest/HD/+1 - as well as on Eurosport.

Thanks for that - tomorrow I'll set to record it on Quest (then I can skip the adverts)!

thumbup Racing just isn’t the same without someone’s bald head in front of you biggrin
Lee Bob looking very quick and smooth in warm up, but agree it will be the usual suspects.

I’m going to have to venture up north and visit Oulton and Croft.

Weather permitting I'd said I'd join someone there tomorrow. Haven't been following it... what do I need to know? smile

Hideous weather, hell of a lot of money gone up the swanny today in all sessions, so many crashes, hate to think what Bird has paid out in spares already, even though he can afford it. Great rids from the Yams, keep it safe til tomorrow.

What is it with this place, so many people find it so slick.

It just is, its always been a slippery track when conditions are less than ideal.

That was a wet day out smile
I’ve had to watch qualifying and the race on catch up to work out what the hell was happening
The race started wet and ended soaking.
The crowd was smaller than the WSBK race earlier this year that was under Covid restrictions. A shame with all the support race guys working their hearts out in appalling conditions.

Tommy Bridewell said the whole circuit needs resurfacing but all they do is patch it up and it's the patches that are the slippy bits.

Avgas fuel vapour from the aircraft that fly over coming in to land at East Midlands next door.

See above, Tommy didn't think it's the fuel that's the problem in the wet. It's the general state of repair.

If jets dropped Avgas on approach the M25 would be a slaughter house.

I've always been convinced it's the planes from the airport that cause it, it's always been awful in the wet.

It was proven many years ago that plane fuel has nothing whatsoever to do with the lack of grip.

Planes do not thrwo fuel away, and the vapour would rise not fall, it is just because of the layout, wind directions and cold valleys etc. nothing sinister

I am dumbfounded that they use overband sealing for the repair patches on a race circuit!

Mental. yikes

Probably one of the reasons MotoGP doesn't race there anymore.

I've been there on several occasions racing and when one of them big buggers comes over you can definitely smell the fuel or exhaust from it. So it is getting to ground level. I think it has some effect.

People talking of fuel dumping ..... That's an altogether different thing and I think someone might complain a bit if they suddenly got soaked in jet fuel whilst knee down round the old hairpin !!!

Of course you can smell it, that would be obvious I think, it is in the air, but I dont think it has anything to do with the surface, am convinced a study was done years ago to this effect, but maybe that was done with a healthy dose of backhander from someone too!
