Green Lane Experience Days (Wiltshire)
Discussion
Looking to try out some green laning and wondering if anybody here has any recommendations for companies in Wiltshire? I saw a company in Melksham sometime ago but can't seem to find their site anymore. Would just like to weigh up my options, hopefully, somewhere that doesn't mind me only having my A2 licence either.
Cheers

Quite a bit further afield but check out Rotor Adventures.
Stan Watt, ex Dakar finisher, runs it. He's a lovely guy, really down to earth and has a brilliant way of teaching if you're a novice or looking to progress. He does adventure bike days as well as days on a wr250f so he should be able to cater for you.
Based in Dorset near Bere Regis but well worth it. He also has the option of riding totally offroad at Rogershill raceway if there was a license issue.
When I get another offroad bike I'm going back to him for training even though he's more expensive than an equivalent slightly closer place

Do you have your own bike?
The GWT part of the TET runs through Bath and is fairly easy in that area judging by the bits I’ve done. It might be useful if you want to give it a try on your own to get a feel.
Start at the lane next to MJ Church in Marshfield on the Chippenham road and work your way through Bathampton.
Easy runs interspersed with tarmac section.
If you’re looking for training or don’t have a suitable bike then there are quite a few places in Wales.
Mick Extance is superb but gets booked quite a long way in advance and rightly so.
Alternatively you could try MotoJunkies, I think they were recently featured in MCN so may also get quite booked up.
If you fancy jumping in with both feet you could sign up for your local TRF group.

I would reccomend the Mick Extance experience in Wales - did it a few months ago and he's an awesome chap that has raced Dakar multiple times and a great location.
Yamaha Off Road Experience have a great set-up as well and if you want to try something with bigger bikes BMW Off Road Skills that Simon Pavey runs is great as well.
Plenty to choose from, just pick whatever is closer to your needs and do it!

Did a day earlier this year with Moto Junkies. Was very good. There were two of us on their CRF300s and several who brought their own bikes. Great scenery and two guides so more advanced riders could do tricky sections while less skilled/confident did easier loops and then meet up. Even the easy sections were challenging in places but just the right amount of challenge from my point of view
I would add to ask exactly what they / you'll do
I went on a course that many recommend and we covered less than 20 miles, most of the day (it was called a day but we only rode 9.45 to 2.45) was waiting for your turn to have a go at an obstacle
I was expecting to cover 100+ miles (booked by an idiot mate)

I've not tried him, but I've read his book and watched his vids, there's Nathan in North Devon who runs Dorothy's Speed Shop https://www.dorothysspeedshop.com/
he has a choice of bikes, including Aussie Postie bikes!, and A2 bike runs https://www.dorothysspeedshop.com/best-of-four .
