New bike bought
Discussion
I was calling round trying to find a Smart Forfour today in the right spec, and also to locate a GR Yaris not too far above list, when a sudden thought hit me.
Given the traffic round here I suddenly realised that what I actually needed was another motorbike, so I’ve just bought this*…
I pick it up next week.
(*I write “this”, but it ended up being “these”. The Enduro is all sold out, so I ordered one of those for later, and the supermoto for now)

I test rode the SM a few weeks back, what a wicked little bike, I couldn’t believe the technology that’s packed into it, also it’s got the best QS/blipper that I think I’ve ever tried which shocked me considering it’s a single.
No way I could own one though, I rode like an absolute tool for the couple of hours I was out on it!!

Short service intervals (I think?), no storage, no weather protection...
What bikes are these anyways? Don't recognise them
Husqvarna 701, Supermoto and Enduro. What bikes are these anyways? Don't recognise them
They’ve sensible service intervals nowadays, something like 10,000 miles, and have the same engine as some KTM road bikes.
It’s just for some fun really. I’m very disappointed with my Honda X-Adv, so will get these and a Vespa 300.

I tried a 701 supermoto and the handling was so sharp it felt like a unicycle

I used to have a 650 Husaberg SM, and on the rare occasions that it actually started, it was just about the most pin-sharp thing I've ever ridden on the road. The "absolute tool" moniker also applied
I used to be part of a Supermoto group, and one of the guys there had a Hussberg. It did start sometimes, but never sounded happy at the effort.
The starter didn’t spin up the engine so much as wrestle it up to compression and hope something positive would come of the trip back down the other side.
I’m hopeful that between improvements in battery technology and in engine design that this new one won’t be like that.

What's wrong with the X-adv? I really fancy one for nipping about on with the Mrs
The engine just feels flat. It doesn’t rev, and so doesn’t feel fast.It handles quite nicely, but is a handful to move around when stopped, and just for done reason feels a bit flat.
It may just be a personal thing, but I’d definitely suggest having a proper test ride on one before buying.
