Chorley and Wigan Yamaha are selling lots of pre-reg 21 plate Niken's for under £10k which is a huge saving on the £15k list price, the figures for the pcp even more so, I'm quite tempted to be honest and I reckon it'd make a great sports tourer, anyone had one? Might have to pop down for a test ride tomorrow biggrin

That's cheap, seriously that bike must of nearly cost that for Yamaha to produce .
Brave man, never even considered one, its so far from the norm its off course.
That said I reckon they are probably a cracking ride and something totally different from anything I have ever experienced I would probably enjoy one.
10k is nuts.

What is the benefit of that over a two wheeled bike?

Maybe Yamaha are realising that this two front wheeled set up might have a market in the scooter sector but not in the mainstream biking sector. Gimmick pure and simple.

Plenty of wheelie pics out there, in fact I've every intention of finding out myself!

I have never paid any attention to these before. After watching a few YouTube videos tonight I am interested in trying one out. Could be a good bike to start taking my son out on the back. Will be interested to find out what you think of the test ride.

Extra front end grip to stop it washing out I guess

Not ridden a Niken but I have had a go on a Piaggio MP3 and it was a hoot! So quick on a tight and twisty road. It just felt rock solid and planted.

The nikens seem to get used a lot for filming at the tour de France etc, so i guess extra stability.

Less likely to lose the front end and lowside.

The benefit comes when you are going banzai on less than perfect surfaces when you can actually push the front end and understeer it like you would with a car or oversteer it and swing the back end round.
I don't have the balls for it myself but apparently it is terrific fun.

If I was looking for a new toy myself, at that price I would be seriously tempted

Wheelies may set off an engine management light that may need a dealer reset:

If it’s a three wheeler does that mean you don’t have to wear a helmet?

That’s actually a bit of a bargain. I haven’t ridden one but I really like these, but probably not enough to buy one…

And that's a benefit?

Wouldn't like to commute on it, although perhaps it's not as bad at filtering as it looks.
