Which modern Ducati R to choose

After a break from bikes, I would like to buy another special Ducati for fast road use I put 8k road miles on a 1098R Bayliss (No386) between 2010-14 and absolutely loved it, before moving onto a RSV4.
I have not ridden a Ducati since the 1098R so haven't sampled the Panigale V2 or V4. I am seriously tempted to wait until a nice 1098R Bayliss comes along but maybe I should be broadening my R horizons and considering a 2nd generation Panigale R or maybe even a V4R?
What Ducati R would you buy? Its got to be a bike that will hold its value well.
