Pulled into a Petrol station tonight and everyone on the pumps seems a bit bemused / distracted, by and interesting sight!
Three Hells Angels in full riding gear, stood outside a BMW 3 series, having coffee with the cups on the roof, stood about having a chin wag!
Perfectly acceptable behaviour, but looked so odd my kid said, ‘why have they got all the biker gear on and not a bike in sight’! biggrin

Do they have to wear the colours and gear all the time, even if doing mundane stuff in the car? (Genuine question!)

There's no requirement to be 'all the gear all the time' type of thing to my understanding.
Possibly a support car for a group ride or something else mundane that took the away from their bikes for a brew.
Get them quite a bit down this neck of the woods, decent enough chaps for the largest part.

Yep, they use cars for the weekly shopping and other stuff wink but seriously you will find them using cars quite frequently.

As for driving around in full gear, I am not sure what you saw but yes, I have known of them keeping their colours and bike gear on, especially the newer recruits.

I first encountered this strange behaviour when I started riding in 2001. Not Hell's Angeles but 4 power rangers in a Mondeo at the car park for the Scottish bike show at Ingliston. They wandered off carrying helmets which they presumably paid to have stored for their comfort. Really odd.

If you mean the cut, which is the clothing bearing the Hells Angels name and Death Head logo, then they wear that all the time when on club business, except when going incognito. They don't always ride bikes - they use cars, vans or whatever vehicle is best suited to any particular task.

Check out Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. The show had an active Hells Angels member in the cast and others consulting for the show so it's probably pretty accurate!

Round here you see this a lot even at Bike Nights. If the Back-patch Brigade are out its usually only on very sunny days.

(I was caught in the M40 traffic behind this, a few minutes after it happened)
