You have to park the bike for an hour and the only available parking is a pay and display car park with no specific bike provision. What's your preferred option?

Leaving a ticket behind the bike screen (if you have one) means it could get pinched or blow away. Maybe photograph it to give yourself a chance of appealing a ticket.

Taking the ticket with you and using it in case an appeal is required is what I've done a few times and never got a penalty ticket.

Just leaving it might work if the inspector assumes the previous option.

Nowadays you often have to enter the reg to get a ticket, so maybe there's a record somewhere that would help if it blows away.

Don't most pay and display machines have an app now ? Can't remember the last time I actually had a real ticket to display.

I try and avoid paid parking anyway, BUT when I end up there I'll buy a ticket, stick it behind the screen and take a picture.
