Looks good but will it be any better than something like a Super Soco?

Looks like any other cheaply made entry level bike, the range is pitiful, its a mere trinket.

Except this one will no doubt cost a fortune and be all but pointless.

The vitpilen which it's clearly based on is quite keenly priced.

I still suspect you're correct though as the KTM freeride EXC is more expensive than the rest of the EXC range and I'd presume this uses the same/an evolution of that tech.

I know I'd miss the noise of an ICE, but I'd like to ride something like that just to see what the future rides like.....

10ish bhp to the Soco's 4, so presumably a fair bit quicker...

Depends what you use it for, 100mile range is several days commuting for most, but for that little power I wouldn't want to ride on outside urban roads. There's several pay per km electric step through scooter hire companies operating around here and they're massively popular, so I'd have thought there'd be a reasonable market for something a bit more motorbike bike like.

I saw a Zero on the road the other day, never seen one before, surprisingly small, looked smaller than my wife Diversion 600.

It says 100km, so 62 miles.
If they're saying 62 miles range it'll be nearer 45-50 in the real world.
Bit pointless when a 125 will do 125 miles on a fiver of petrol.

Ooops, hadn't spotted that was km not miles.

Still a bit less servicing needed than a 125, and no need to visit a petrol station. But yeah, a 125 costs buttons to run anyway.

Saved me typing it ... pointless, add in cold weather impact and its wont get to the end of the road

I agree that the range seems a little weak. I wouldn’t have it as my main bike, but as a nice urban runabout I think it’s nice.

When they make a 125 which has 50% more power (although not torque I'm sure), much higher range and no doubt cheaper... Why.

The answer is, I suppose, practice. When the technology improves the stats will too.

I have no problem with the idea of electric bikes when they are good enough, but this wouldn't even get me to work and back!

The sponsor on the front wing endplate was Bull.

You've omitted the Bull branding.

I park my van on the drive.

For all the distance between my front door and the driver's door it's barely worth my while even putting on my helmet and gloves...

hehe

So between you and hucumber you have an average commuting distance, sounds ideal hehe

Also no use for my 2 mile commute, I actually came in to work on my motorbike this morning for a change, but it took longer than cycling, however for a 10 mile urban commute, something like this would be more interesting than a NUI scooter, although in reality the scooter is probably more practical. Depends on the price though, at 2.5-3k it would be competing with electric scooters and high end e-bikes, much more than that and I can see them struggling to sell.
