What do you need to know?
I was lucky enough to win a 2001 cr500. But after 2 attempted thefts I'm going to have to sell it unfortunately. The bike has so many trick parts on it. I was wondering if anyone on here knew any history about the bike or could tell me what upgrades are actually on it besides the ohlins suspension and exhaust I know about. Where did you win it from? I’d hope they’d have provided a spec sheet.
Be very careful selling it, if you’ve had attempted thefts while owning it, as soon as you advertise it, it will get worse.
Perhaps see if a dealer is interested in it. They’re quite valuable, but only mental money if real special.
You could maybe try ‘Docwob’ he has an eBay shop and always used to deal in trick mx bikes, mostly from USA. Sells less now due covid, but he may be interested or know about it. He knows his st, that’s for sure.

That is lovely. Thanks for the reply. I won it on a Facebks raffle. I really don't want to sell it but its just a constant worry about it getting nicked.I will look him up (docwob) . I will put some more detailed pictures on when I get to my pc.

I know a bit about MX bikes but probably not enough about CR500s to be of any massive help. Which Facebook competition site did you win it from out of interest?
Some advice for selling, never give out your home address or even postcode. If someone is interested in viewing, meet them somewhere very public and I chain the bike into the back of the van. You can also remove the chain from the bike, stops them riding away while they're sat revving it. Use your brain, park where you can get out. If a few nasty looking blokes get out drive off, too many thefts going on.
I was recently selling an enduro bike through Facebook marketplace, I also had some car tyres for sale. Had a message for the tyres made me an offer I was happy with, he was about to set out to get them. Sent him the postcode to a petrol station and said I'd meet him there, he never replied again. This happens all the time but it does make you wonder if he was after my address.
