Vinales and Yamaha part company immediately
Discussion
All I can say is he doesn't like money. He asked for a year off the contract and you have to think they got arsey about having him around gathering info for his next team so engineered his exit (sacked for overrevving lol) saving another chunk of money.
He should be like all the british riders and treat it like a well paid job just requiring a monotone drone about sponsors every time the camera is around
after a reliable 8-10th place finish.

He asked for a year off his contract? I don't believe it quite works like that, there will always be a clause to get out early and there will be a date where that has to be raised to allow the team to digest and secure the services of another rider. There's clearly much more to this than we will ever be privvy to, he over revved an engine, I've heard he also destroyed a paddock scooter recently.. what else has happened that could be true?
The Japanese won't take kindly to this embarrassment and again I'm sure there's a force majeure clause in the contract which has been invoked, although I am sure there were discussions with legal teams to release him immediately and some monies changed hands, thus allowing him to potentially jump straight onto the Aprilia (similar to Zarco on his exit from KTM).
Vinales will be on the Aprilia at Misano testing next week.

Crash.net reporting SRT has also parted with the Sepang circuit ownership as well and will be under a new name in MotoGP next year and speculating that Morbidelli will be on Vinales bike this year when fit (no doubt a nice pay off for SRT from Yamaha). Even a rumour of Dovisioso joining SRT this year for a full return next due to the new Italian sponsors WithU.

Vinales engineered his own exit by behaving like a petulant child, cruising around then bouncing it off the rev limiter down the straights. If I were Aprilia i would be looking for a way out of the contract. 9 wins out of 115 factory moto gp races, needs to wind his neck in a bit.jjones said:
