I know several of you rate this app (I had a quick try some time ago and found it un intuitive)

I've just had the above offer come through which looks to be a great deal but I thought I'd ask on here for any opinions - having been screwed over by Tomtom offering lifetime updates in the past and then declaring my device "unsuitable" a year later furious I'm now a bit more cautious

Well it's not tied to any device & I can't see them closing shop anytime soon.
I purchased lifetime Gold membership at launch, but then I'd used their old TYRE software for years for free before purchasing, so I didn't begrudge diving in on spec at all. I've never regretted it & it ticks all the boxes.

I bought Tyre lifetime membership then upgraded to MyRouteApp Gold lifetime membership for a small additional fee. I've never felt "short changed" and I'd pay €99 for lifetime Gold membership if I didn't already have it.

I’m suspicious of ‘lifetime’ deals.

As an example, I bought Flightradar24 for what should have been a one off charge.

They discontinued that app and launched a new app, also called Flightradar24 which does the same thing, but which is a yearly subscription.

Thanks - I wasn't sure how long they'd been around but you've reminded me it came from TYRE and they have been reasonable for some time

For the gold price you are being offered you are paying for two & half years, so if it goes for longer than that then you are in profit.

I can only see monthly and annual pricing on the website - is this a paid members only offer?

Marketing email received - paid the EUR99

Just need to make it work full screen on an iPhone now - that will save me buying an old TomTom to stick the routes on
