If you're in Worcestershire, happy Speed Awareness Week! I joined in the fun just now by getting pulled over after being clocked at 83 on a dual carriageway (NSL with central reservation).

I got an SP30 in November in the car so doubt I'll be offered a SAC. Bugger.

At least you're aware of your speed now.

I think you should be exempted from any points, for spelling ‘dual’ correctly.

True, you can't say it didn't work.

Very kind, mind if I call you as a character witness? smile

I wonder if we had this in Sussex recently, never seen so many camera vans! I had three weeks waiting for a letter to drop on the door mat!

I’m fast approaching the ‘sod the big bike and get an electric bicycle’ threshold for commuting etc.

TBH for local commuting and getting across town I think my electric MTB is certainly no slower than car or motorbike and getting some places (where anti-rat run bollards are there) a lot faster. Just make sure there is somewhere safe to keep it when you get there.

OP here, I got a speed awareness course - no fine, no points, which I consider a result.

Question: (which I could Google but reasons...) -One of the defining characteristics of a DC is having a central reservation. We have one here in sunny Swindon that has a central reservation (a patch of grass approx 2m wide) but no dividing barrier. Is that therefore still NSL 70?

Yes, the defining feature is a barrier. To oversimplify slightly, if you can't roll a golf ball from one side to the other, it's a DC.

I thought the central reservation was the important bit, not the presence/absence of a barrier. I dare say I'll be able to say for sure after my SAC smile

thats really impressive, i'd be over the moon.

i got stopped doing 91 on the motorway recently. Its been over 4 weeks and i am yet to hear anything. the wait is killing me as i'm anticipating 6 points and im already on 3 which will take all the fun out of driving anywhere for the next 3 years
