Getting a bit nasty between Brookes and the team now.

I missed the interview but bird is a bit of a c**t used to bullying his way thru life , maybe Brookes is as stubborn as him but i guess ultimately bird is team owner .

The Brooks thing is reminiscent of how Kiyonari just dropped off all of a sudden.

It's weird though when your in the same team , identical bike , tracks you know and it all seems to be coming apart.

Brookes said that the team are telling him that Iddon’s fine so he just needs to go quicker.

Shane Byrne afterwards said that he’s spoken to the team and they’re saying they’ve tried everything to get him up to speed but nothings worked.
Byrne obviously won’t repeat everything but he said he’s surprised Brooke’s is still in the team. Sounds pretty tense.

Yep. I can't imagine why anyone would get involved with PBM, unless the money is so ridiculously good?

You don't win the BSB championship 4 out of the last 5 years (probably would've been 5 if Shakey hadn't smashed himself up at the Snetterton test) by being a nice guy
Paul Bird may be a tough character, but he knows how to win

I dunno, the bikes don't seem bad.

He's so bad this year's it's almost like he's been hobbled. How could the raigning No.1 be so rubbish on the same bike, same team as last year?

PB promised too much if he won this year again??!!

I've had a great weekend watching the BSB - thank you Quest for showing it all for free. thumbup

And their commentary team and presenters are really good, even if I did record it so I could watch a bit later and skip the adverts!

It was interesting to see a few more road racers than just Hicky on track, and in some cases going pretty well. Although I thought there might have been a few more.

Dream weekend for Jason O'Halloran and a solid result for Glenn Irwin in the last race after his scary crash.

But I just can't understand what is going wrong with Brookes, especially when Christian Iddon is getting some results. confused

I can't help thinking that when Shakey said he was surprised Brookes was still there might be a "premonition" with maybe some insider info. How many more times will he ride for PBM?

Be interesting where Brookes would move to if parted ways with pbm .

I'd like to see him on the Suzuki but come showdown it would be tempting for one of those teams to get him in as a 3rd rider to mess iddon up.

TBH it's not the tough character bit that I'd be put off by, but more the things outside the BSB team that wouldn't sit well. I wouldn't respect or trust him.

(I do appreciate he's unlikely to ask me to dust off my 20yr old leathers and wobble round as JB's replacement of course.)

Actually, back on the core subject of Brookes' performance this year, didn't he have a really bad start to one of his years at Yamaha, even though he'd won his first champion with them only a year (or 2?) before?

A bad start in 2017. He didn't really get going until round 7 or 8 but that was quite different as he'd won the title in 2015 then gone to WSB for a horrible season on a BMW before returning for 2017.

Maybe its they've over paid for Brookes compared to iddon and rather than pay him off there giving him a st bike until he walks out ?

I couldn't believe it when Brookes said that PB hadn't spoken to him about his form. They're in the same pits/garage all weekend, each poorly performing weekend.
PB is not known for not speaking his mind

Let us not forget Ryan Vickers who had a cracking weekend at last, a shame he fell off in the second race perhaps just too much enthusiasm, but a good result for a small team.

I was most impressed by Luke Stapleford in Superstock. Stepped in for one round for an injured rider (one of the Neaves) and bagged a pole and two seconds. On a Suzuki too which isn't the most competitive bike in Superstock this year.
