Delboy's garage on YouTube...
Discussion
Found his stuff by accident brushing up on doing a chain swap and found a how to video that looks fairly recent of his. It looked pretty good and had a couple of hints and tips that I didn't already know about.
Can't comment on older stuff too much but have enjoyed watching a few as he seems to live fairly nearby and it's nice to see some of my favourite riding roads onscreen when I can't get out myself.

I watched him years ago but he does some really questionable stuff so went off him.
Same here - the waterless coolant debacle between him and The Workshop put me off both channels, squabbling like school children. There was some pretty helpful info on Del's channel when I was first starting to work on my SV650 years ago, but some of the subsequent "tips" and bodges mean I'm not sure I'd recommend his channel to anyone for anything other than entertainment purposes (and even that's questionable). Fair enough do some work on your own bikes and film it, but don't present it as a 'how-to' when you don't even really seem to know what you're doing...
The above said, I would also say I don't wish him any ill and hope he recovers soon.
Yeah I've used his videos for fork seals, chain and sprocket change, caliper rebuild... but all of them are his early stuff.
Not too keen on most of his builds, just not my style or taste, but I enjoy watching the process and maybe picking up a small hint or trick..
The man can get a good result (on screen anyway) from those rattle cans mind you!
He's made some mistakes along the way... we're all only human I guess.
I would still rather have a pint with him than some of the so called "experts" that seem to be obsessed with him.

I am only aware from him from The Workshop, the guy that has the Z900 and did the video explaining why some version of the R1 was trashing their cranks.
The Workshop guy also seemed critical of an American motorcycle tuner and some of his possibly created for content silliness.
Can't say I've watched much of The Workshop stuff as I could do without the YouTube backbiting and bhiness.
I am quite capable of messing up my own vehicles without having to watch tutorials online of other people's cock ups and lash ups.

I subscribe to his YT channel and follow him on Facebook, nice guy and as mentioned up the thread, would like a pint with him.
He's had it tough lately - had a heart attack about 6 weeks ago requiring four stents, so he's taken a short break from uploading new content and now just getting going again.
I like his style and he's helped me out of a few DIY issues by watching his vids.

Me too. Some of the Del stuff was a bit personal and petty, but for the most part he was calling him out on the bodges and st advice. That coolant change one should go down in history as a perfect example of serious stupid.
That said I don't wish health problems on many people, let alone random YouTubers
Tough crowd on here.
While his advice/methods might not be always perfect, his videos were are easy viewing, they are educational, like anything online you take things with a pinch of salt and draw your own conclusions, they help to visualise stuff and see the typical things you might encounter carrying out a job for the first time, take it as a biker mate offering a hand, they're not infallible but considering some of the workmanship I've come across on bikes (including supposed 'professional' workshops/dealers) is horrifying, better to have some guidance than nothing at all.
Some people shouldn't let themselves anywhere near a bike and for those, at least a tutorial like this points them in the right direction. I like his reviews on tools etc and it's been great to watch his workshop expand, mine has had a similar growth so it's great to see his in depth reviews on stuff that would otherwise be thin on information. He seems a nice bloke to boot. Good luck to him, he puts in a lot of time and effort and can only be of help to people. I'm sorry to hear he's not been well and wish him all the best.

Used to watch delboy years ago but didn’t really need to keep watching and haven’t seen anything from him for probably over 8 years.
Can’t stand the workshop. Every video seems to come from the angle “I’m superior to everyone else” and then tries to keep that illusion up by baffling you with bullst. I’m sure he has some valid points but he’s I’d avoid in real life.

Problem is Matt shouldn't throw stones from inside his greenhouse. Watch Matt's videos of him changing brakes pads and doing an oil change, I wouldn't let him pump my tyres up.
What does he do that's so bad? Can't say I've watched those kinds of videos.anonymous said:

iirc...pushing dirty pistons back into the caliper before cleaning, using a pipe wrench to push pistons back in.
Maybe I'm a bit pedantic in my piston cleaning with a toothbrush...but I guess the benefit is I can push them back in by gently squeezing by hand.
I see what you mean, although on a filthy daily bike I probably wouldn't care either, as long as they do move about.Maybe I'm a bit pedantic in my piston cleaning with a toothbrush...but I guess the benefit is I can push them back in by gently squeezing by hand.
I had a back and forth with The Workshop bloke in the comments of one of his videos where he was saying Millyard isn't anything special, and insinuating that he could make a 6 cylinder Kwak in his shed with hand tools if he wanted to. All the videos I've seen of his, are just trashing other people without doing anything himself.
But he's really Yorkshire and swears a lot so that means he's funny apparently.
