How does it work for parking at the GP? I went to qualifying 2 years ago and just drove straight in and bought a ticket to to get in, no parking charges.

I've got weekend tickets this year but staying offsite, costs are quite high and you pay on all 3 days or buy a weekend ticket for £45, has it changed since it was last on?

Thanks for the replies. Looks like Whittlebury Park will be easier for us as it's near our reserved seats in Becketts on the Sunday and we'll probably be around the pit area/woodcote Friday/Saturday. Can you enter in to the circuit near Becketts? The Map isn't clear.

Yes you can. A footpath around the edge of the golf course leads to the entrances behind the Becketts Grandstand. There is another footpath that takes you to the rear of Copse.

One final question, I'm coming up from Watford, would it be relatively straight forward to get to Whittlebury Park without being sent off in the direction of the main carparks? Not been this way before and not got much experience of a busy Silverstone other than once before.

Take the pretty route form Buckingham and use the Dadford road approach......

Using the Dadford Road doesn’t get you to Whittlebury Park as it’s the other side of the circuit.
Assuming you come up the A41 from Watford then get onto the A413 at Aylesbury.
You’ll go through Whitchurch and Winslow before ending up in Buckingham.
From Buckingham head to Maids Moreton then through Akeley continuing along the A413 towards Whittlebury.
As you approach the village the entrance to Whittlebury Park is on your left.
None of the above route will try to divert you to the main circuit/ event car parks.

Thanks for this info, I assumed from Watford the quickest way would be M1>A5183>A5 and then off at Old Stratford?

M1 route is normally faster but not as good a drive and can get more easily bunged up at weekends especially around Luton.
If you want to use the M1 try coming off at Junction 15. Go through Roade then take the right turn into Rookery Lane. ( it’s easy to miss)
This takes you through Stoke Bruerne, over the Grand Union Canal and brings you out onto the A5 behind Towcester Racecourse.
Turn left onto the A5 then almost immediately right into Cowpastures Lane. This leads to Whittlebury. At the end of Cowpastures Lane turn left through Whittlebury Village and the entrance to Whittlebury Park is on the right as you exit the village.
This route avoids all the hassle of either navigating MK or sitting on the A5 for too long.

Or you could jump off at 11A and straight down the A5 avoiding the roadworks between MK and Northampton, you can then turn left onto Cowpastures lane from there.

You could also take the A5 to the A422 to Deanshanger and head out to Whittlebury that way.

I have many issues with this which is why I will not be going.

£12 to park is atrocious considering all the space that is at this venue it costs very little to offer this, that is not a realistic amount, but they know they can get away with it as people will pay it without really thinking, as usual, yet it is free to bikers, I get it more bikers will attend, but why penalise car drivers?

Also I was planning on going Friday, less people, less traffic, same car park price. Nice touch greedy buggers.

And know what, park and ride escalates over the three days, 6 quid on Friday, not bad, but it is something like 10 on Saturday and 15 on Sunday for the SAME service but OH so many more people more profit for sod all, that is plain rude but typical of this rancid venue that just over charge people endlessly when they know a crowd will attend whatever and hand over huge amounts of money for things that the track should be providing free.

And know what they said when I complained?

Hope you might come here for BSB when parking is free, so they answered their own bloody question by admitting they are only doing it because they know they can and dumbass Britain will just hand it over like lemmings.

You have to hand it to them, they know how to make money for nothing, and fans just let them.

Cheapest way to do Silverstone Motogp is but the earliest early bird tix you can, and then book somehting like dadford road campsite.

Ignoring the fact Silverstone have had my money for about 18 months, I did only pay £75 for a three day pass with roving grandstand fri/sat....

Having not been for 2 years, I have upgraded to Luffield seats for race day this year,

Thing is moto gp is never that busy compared to f1.

You could rock up with general admission and still have no problems watching.

Re the unrealistic prices , whilst people pay them there realistic.

I've paid £25 for parking, me and the lad are just going on Saturday . Never mind about the parking fee that doesn't bother me, whats that premium handling fee all about for £7.50 , does that mean we get man handled out the van and abused when we arrive ?

My main concern is finding where to park, my sense of direction is terrible and my logistical skills are wk frown

I can see me fking this right up rolleyes
