Replacing the injured Morbidelli on the slow bike - https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/983665/1/officia...

And Pedrosa in Austria on the KTM too.

Might not be so bad at Silverstone for Cal, with the swooping corners, but the Red Bull Ring won't be a lot of fun for him. Question for both him and Pedrosa is how match fit they are: are they still able to push to that final %? Dani at least has the advantage that it's their home GP and the KTM really ought to work there!

Trouble is Cal will be riding Frankies old stter, so will die a thousand deaths in Austria.....Silverstone, maybe top 6 ?

Looking forward to see how he goes.

More excited about Pedrosa though for some reason.

I'm thinking if Cal can get a top 12 at Austria he will be doing exceptionally well.

Be good to see Crutchdog back out even on the Petronas. I'm guessing his testing work and results will be showing some useful insights.

Agree on the comment, Austria not a good track for this bike though.

I'm looking forwards to Austria again, seen some fabulous racing in more recent years in the senior class!

Goods news, likeable guy is Cal. And also Dani too.

Good news. Reading between the lines I think Cal will not do anything to special as the bike is slow and the amount of testing he has done this year has been limited by the pandemic. Dani could be really interesting. He’s helped developed the bike to what it is, he’ll be riding the same spec as the others. Potentially he could make a few young guns look a bit ordinary! However I think he is ultimate team man and will just do the job they want him to do.
I hope to be proved spectacularly wrong and they both fly biggrin

He will run Morbidelli's setup even if it's not his natural bike setup, give feedback, make changes, test it and repeat. His job will be to help get Morbidelli further up the grid when he returns. If he isn't on the back row of the grid in Austria I will be surprised.

CalC getting a good run. Has the human cannonball gareth gerroff being benched due to his imbecilic efforts to derail Yamaha in WSBK?
