Again. Well, after getting two Daytona 675s that both had massive issues, I decided to put that dream on ice and instead just crack on with stepping up to a litre bike I have also always wanted, and which should hopefully be a little more reliable.
Loving it so far - especially the sound. It's going to take me a while to get used to the extra power which is obviously overkill for the road but nonetheless great to have.
First impressions are that it sounds great, goes great, needs a fair bit more muscle to get it to turn in than I am used to, but is surprisingly roomy once you are on the move. Overall, it feels like a great road bike. Need to have a fiddle with the suspension to see if I can reduce the tendency to understeer, and also not sure if it is in my head, but the bars feel a little twitchy at low speed. Otherwise, really enjoying it.

Thanks all! Yeah, I think the colour scheme is pretty good, and I am a sucker for gold wheels.

Understeer on a litre bike on the road…eeek…how hard are you pushing it? (I am a learner)
Understeer in the sense that it wants to push a little wide, rather than the front actually losing grip - I am definitely not that good!marcella said:
Lovely R1, what was wrong with the Daytona's? I'm toying between getting a daytona or just going for a litre bike instead.
Both were bought unseen from dealers due to lockdown. The first one had a badly slipping clutch and a bad oil leak. I had no problems returning that one. The second one had engine failure after 50 miles, and I am still having a lot of hassle with the dealer returning that. I had wanted one for years and they were both in supposedly 'mint' condition, so it was quite disappointing and unlucky to have two bad bikes in succession. They were great when they were working, though. Lesson learned, I won't buy another bike unseen.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
