I was hoping to get away for a few days this August, up to Scotland to hire an adventure bike and do some of the NC500, I'm supposed to be meeting someone up there to travel back down after 2 days so it's a relatively short trip. (hire for 2 days).

I was looking at things like a BMW F750GS However I've noticed that all the companies stipulate "A full motorcycle license held for at least 2 years". Does this mean that even though I've got a full licence (car licence since 2007) and am 31 that I could only rent a scooter or 125?

I passed in September of 2020 so I'm not at a full year in fairness, I just wasn't expecting a 2 year wait until I could rent something.

I get that it will be their underwriters but after calling a couple and being told there was nothing they could do I thought I'd come to good old PH for some advice....

It might be worth contacting BMW to see if they'll support a 2 day test ride. BMW can be very accommodating on test rides.

Only one year required for hiring with Kirkcaldy Kwak. Used them before and they were really good.

@StonedRollin - they are really good on prices, thank you for the recommendation. Unfortunately the only time I have available to go is in August and I'm not going to have had my licence for a year until early September grumpy
