Bike tyre prices

I've just ordered a new rear tyre for a GS1200, and the price is slightly higher than I paid for front and rear two years ago. Same fitters, same brand, same bike. Have prices really increased that much?

You may have benefitted from a pair deal before but assuming a front is around £80 + fitting that’s a lot extra on just a rear.

Noticed the same. I had a Bridgestone S22 rear fitted to my Speed Triple at the weekend and it was about £40 more expensive that last year!

Alas, I didn't. I wanted somewhere local that could fit them promptly and there wasn't much choice.

In hindsight I should have bought the tyre alone for about £130 and arranged fitting separately.
