My little fleet is likely to increase to three bikes in the next few weeks - I’m looking to buy a sportsbike of some kind (possibly a Fireblade) to go with the GS and vintage AJS.

Any advice on insurance from those who run multiple bikes?

I can only ride one at once, so some kind of multi-bike policy seems to make more sense than individual policies. Any recommendations?

There a load of bks. Sorry to be blunt but after insuring between 4 and 5 bikes at once over the last 4 years with some value behind them its hard work. At best you might get some on one policy then insure the rest individually.

I think you might struggle with a vintage bike on the same policy as a blade, a lot of multi policies don’t like mixing different types of bikes in my experience.

Another Bemoto customer here.

Been with them for 4 years now, prices are good enough and only waste 10 minutes of my time each year.

Got decent cover and European breakdown.

Never had to actually use them for a claim or anything yet, so can’t comment on that side.

I took out a multibike policy with bemoto a few weeks back.

Make sure you mention 44 teeth who are one of their 'brand ambassadors' - they will give you some perk for doing so.
I got a reduced excess on my policy

I am with Bemoto too and they were very good and knowledgeable on the phone.

They insured my Blackbird, Royal Enfield and CBR250RR for roughly the same price as single quotes for just the Blackbird were coming out as, so probably saved me a couple of hundred pounds going multi bike.

Biggest benefit for me is now it all comes out at once so I am not having to keep looking at what vehicle is due next etc, as I have been doing in the past.
Makes things much simpler thumbup

I use Principle insurance, have done for four or five years I think. They might be worth a try.

Four bikes each year comes in around the £400 mark. I don't even bother shopping about when the quote comes in. Think its bloody reasonable.

I have a similar "fleet". You probably want different things from the policies, so different policies will be needed.

I insure my AJS M18S and TL1000R on a limited mileage, agreed value, classic bike policy in order to save money and get the agreed value, salvage rights etc. So it will depend on how old/new the Fireblade you're thinking of is as, you may be able to do similar. I do have to set a mileage limit for the pair rather than individually and have the normal classic bike policy rules about garaging etc. so take that into account. I'm with Footman James (I think....whoever used to be the VMCC "partner"). As both bikes are relatively low value adding the TLR cost me about £35 for a half-year including a £20 change fee. The scheme the VMCC have announced with Peter James looks like it might be interesting, but doesn't start until August I think so it depends how quick you buy as well.

My daily bike I just insure as normal, that way I can always ride without watching mileage, worrying where I leave it etc. and still maintain an ongoing NCB. As I'm old and the bike isn't anything flash it doesn't cost huge amounts.

By the way, what AJS do you have? Pictures?
