3-season gloves
Discussion
Didn't want to hijack the other gloves thread (although will post on it) - does anyone have any recommendations for "3-season" gloves? Even with heated grips I suffer with cold fingers (mostly fingertips) when the temperature is c.10 degrees or below.
I have short mesh Furygan summer gloves which are great, but don't want to wear winter gloves the rest of the year. I tried some RST leather race-style gloves (that I own from a few years back) the other day and they were as cold as the Furygans, and liners don't seem to work for me either.
Thanks!

You could consider "normal" non-mesh gloves plus silk liners for cooler days? I have some and they work great in properly cold winter, but they do make the gloves feel quite tight - maybe they'd stretch in a bit/feel more normal with regular use.
Thanks - haven't found liners that work for me - the tight fingertips seem to make me colder. Odd. Another vote for Held Gore-Tex gloves. I've just replaced me Held Race-Tex that did 5 years and over 60,000 miles of everything from commuting in late October/early April (frosts, winds and rain) to summers riding roads in France, Spain and Italy. I've replaced them with set of Held Gore-Text Chikara gloves.

If you are regularly riding in cold temps, especially for any distance, buy a pair of handlebar muffs. Not pretty, but they really work. And it means you can wear pretty much any gloves you like.
Thanks - how effective are handguards? I'm not riding regularly in cold temps at all, so don't think I can engage full courier mode just yet, just have always suffered with my hands. I got these a few months ago (at £59.99 plus a slight discount) for the same reason you are after and they're fine. Not too bulky for the summer but fine with heated grips in sub 10 degrees. And waterproof (not fully tested that mind you)

price on the Held Gore-tex may be a little more than I want to spend but will check them out!
Held Gore-Tex gloves are excellent but pricy. What sort of budget are you looking at? _Neal_ said:
Sub-£100 ideally. Have just picked up some Furygan all-season versions of my current gloves, which fit really well and are CE certified, as a stop-gap, but would appreciate any recommendations.
Eh? You bought a not quite good enough pair and want to buy another pair?Anyway, imho, Held gloves are buy once, cry once. You can wear one of their mid-warmth gloves year round with heated grips.

Hearing the Held recommendations loud and clear though

+1. I cried once at the price of my Held Gore-Tex gloves (the forerunner to the Held Score 4.0 gloves). That was ten years ago. Using Held's care instructions (with Duckswax for the leather parts), the gloves are still outstanding.Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
