Unfortunately BKS insist on credit/debit cards so you can't swap bodily organs or unwanted relations for items of clothing

Try roadskin. They're doing a free pair of gloves when you buy a pair of jeans.

I'm afraid I wouldn't touch Goldtop or (for gloves) Roadskin. YMMV.
Their quality is flawless and considerably higher than the likes of Dainese and Astars.
In silver medal position, I would say Held gloves. And in Olympic bronze position, Racer has it.

I'm fussy about gloves because they impact my riding enjoyment. The right gloves – with good 'feel' – make it a pleasure to use the bike's controls.
But I'm also fussy because I was a first-aider at a crash in which a mate's gear failed. I like my gloves to be all-leather if possible, with excellent pinkie protection plus palm sliders (like these BKS gloves), and full knuckle armour. And the wrist restraint should make it impossible for the gloves to come off in a spill.
I'm unconvinced about the Roadskin's wrist restraint. Also, in a high-speed accident, the back of the hand is most likely to hit the ground. So, the fingers need excellent abrasion resistance, yet the Roadskin is only partially leather on the fingers. YMMV if you trust Roadskin's "Maximite" material.
The Goldtop gloves only use a single hide layer on the palm – one of the most vulnerable areas, usually getting a double-layer of leather (or better still, Knox palm sliders). It's enough to rule out the gloves for me (others may disagree). Also, there's a lack of extra protection for the pinkie.

I'm similarly fussy and have had a few pairs of Racer gloves.
I like Racer gloves as well as Held. I will probably get BKS gloves when my summer gloves eventually wear out, but I'm using Racer winter gloves. I have Racer Race Carbon FHH gloves (toasty and very comfy, reasonably protective for a winter glove, a shame they aren't Gore-Tex). It's hard to find winter gloves that are entirely leather, but the palm is full leather with scaphoid sliders to boot.
