I want to update my motorcycle 2011 truimph street triple to newer 2013+ frame. this motorbike is a keeper for me.

My whole front end and engine, is same as newer type but rear end i.e seat and seat subframe is different, my bike is built at cut off period.

Can i frame swap into blank VIN frame and engrave the my current bike's VIN number on new frame and be all ok with legals?

The frame is the identity of the machine. If you are using a newer frame it must already have its own identity.

lots of reason, on newer bike, the ECU is locked, but looked much better and much more expenisve to buy (3-4 grand) on top of my bike's price if i ever sell it, frame/subframe/bits is only £700.
my bike years range's ECU is not locked and has very dated rearend, it is letting the bike down. and this bike is a keeper. they didnt make any changes to engine on later bike. everything is remained the same.

Vehicle registration - Rebuilt vehicles

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/rebuilt-ve...

Keep a vehicle’s original registration number
A rebuilt vehicle can keep its original registration number if you can prove you’ve used:

... a new frame of the same specification as the original (motorbike)

Now thats clear enough i cant do it even though it just updated frame. (same everything but different seat subframe mounting point) Thanks for providing the link.

It seems like a lot of effort for aethestic reasons only, you can't see the rear of the bike when you are riding it, unless you just plan to stand around looking at it all day?

Waste of time and money IMO, but its up to you how you spend your money, also if you were to be involved in an accident and the identity of the bike didn't match up correctly you could end up with no payout or a whole world of pain.
