Fast(er) turn in Super/hyper sport tyres?
Discussion
So its been a while since I needed/wanted to buy some sticky road tyres and not up on which of the current offerings are going to promote faster tip in ?
I've noticed Dunlop claim that for their D212 GP Pro (front?) tyre profile but suspect that may be a little too track focused regarding getting heat in to them on the road, though I loved the old D207GP back when I was a youngun I dont think that was as track focused as todays current offerings are. So of other main protagonists , thinking Power 5/GP, M9RR, Sportsmart TT etc ,which gives a pointy front end feel? . Not massively concerned about mileage or wet weather use though would like to be able to get home in showers without being spat into the nearest ditch. I have tried the usual google searches but seem to be swamped in sales pitch and little real world review if any exist beyond marketing hype/sales pitch.

I use dunlop 213 gp pros alongside V02s on track, I'd say 212-213 aren't suitable for everyday road riding at all, they need heat and low pressure to work at their best.
I'd recommend something like S22s for everyday fast road use.
Ta for info re 212/213 GPs, confirmed what I suspected regarding not good for getting temp into them on the road. Anyone got more tips/thoughts for nice quick turn in tyres? I'm avoiding saying what I've currently got as I want to hear a "blank slate" views .I'd recommend something like S22s for everyday fast road use.

If you want a Dunlop for the road, you want the D212 GP RACER, not the pro. The racer is ok for road use. Get endurance compound for the rear and it'll last and grip.I've noticed Dunlop claim that for their D212 GP Pro (front?) tyre profile but suspect that may be a little too track focused regarding getting heat in to them on the road, though I loved the old D207GP back when I was a youngun I dont think that was as track focused as todays current offerings are. But realistically, they're quite extreme for the road. Perhaps try something like the Bridgestone S22. S22 front's are brilliant from what I've heard.

What bike for a start?
Keeping the bike and current tyres out of the question, tried that on a bike model specific forum and the thread wandered all over the place, so its purely a tyres query. From what I can tell so far most road capable super/hyper sport tyres veer away from fast(er) turn in characteristics, probably to make the product benign /safer for most use cases so I may well be limited in choices . So any votes other than the racy Dunlops (unlikely to be suitable due to difficulty in getting enough heat into them) or S22s? Noting the Fastbikes review of S22s said they took effort to flip from one side to the other, hmm it could be I'm after a unicorn tyre and was spoiled by the defunct D207GPs /Mich Hi-sport TXs of my younger days sports bike riding or my rose tinted specs need new lenses
. So just really after a view of which f the current crop give faster turn in or is it likely there is little to no difference these days on the road suitable options ?
From the info you have given out, I'd be putting a set Supercorsa's on.
I was running Power GP's previously and have recently fitted a set of Supercorsas to mine. Because the temps oop norf have been pretty cool recently I haven't really given them a proper flogging yet, but from the canny decently paced rides I have had on them they seem keener to drop in than the GP's did.

I had wondered if supercorsas are also one of those difficult to get heat into tyres in cold northern climes? Also I have noticed that Dunlop are claiming fast turn in carcase profiles not only for their D212 GP racer but also their Sportsmart TT which also claims fast warmup too so suitable (ish?) for road use.
There are some options to ponder there

I run old track tyres on the road Dunlop D212 or Bridgestone R11's or Supercorsa's.
I find the Supercorsa's work a lot better on my road bike than the other 2 brands, I usually run Sc1 front and Sc2 rear.
When I got my MT 10 it felt terrible to me on turn in so after a couple of hundred miles I had a set of my own Supercorsa scrubs fitted.
I live in North Northumberland (Morpeth area) so we get it cold and wet up here.
I do realise that a set of Michelin road tyres would be better suited for cold and rain (just before anyone jumps on me) but I mainly use track rubber for scratching around in the summer as I'm not an all year round rider.

On the road any of the usual suspects will be very similar - the biggest difference would be changing your suspension settings

Get the suspension sorted first and foremost and then if you still need a faster turn in fit a narrower rear tyre.
If you're running a 190/50 try a 190/55 and if you're already running a 190/55 try a 180/60
