Thinking of buying a new bike & wondering if fitting a tracker is really worth it?
I guess there would be an insurance discount, but will it really make any difference as to whether our travelling cousins/scrotes would consider taking the bike off my hands??

If my car or bike was stolen, I'd never want to see it gain.

Yep unless it was sentimentally significant I wouldn't really want it back.

If you actually want it to track, as opposed to more of a deterrent, a cheaper solution than Tracker could be https://monimoto.com/uk/shop/

I saw it reviewed recently in Ride I think and they seemed to think its was pretty good for the price.

I too have a monimoto. Lets me know if my bike has been stolen or not. No more wondering if it'll be there when I return at the end of a day. Worth it just for that.

Can you change the simcard?

Seems daft paying £2.70 a month.

NOT AT ALL .

Why do I say that?

Had my bike 5 years this year. Had to have a tracker fitted due to the type of bike (H2). paid £500 for last 5 years trekking tracker. £99 per year

Not used it once. apart from telling them it's being worked on or on a train, ferry

So worth it. no.

Peace of mind 1000%. Would I get an alarm nope.

It's a lot cheaper than a Tracker subscription.

It's a requirement of my insurance company and they come fitted as standard on the GS now. I've got a tracker on my car but let the subscription lapse.

I've run insurance quotes with and without a tracker and it's cheaper with it fitted; enough to pay for the tracker so it's a no brainer for me. My new S1000XR comes with a tracker and 12 months subscription paid.

I bought a sim-based one from Amazon for £45. Just needs recharging once a month, and you can put it in another vehicle. No ongoing charge (uses hardly any data to respond to my 'where are you?' text).

It's a TKStar mini.
