Be great if Toby Moody were to take the role.

I presume in the absence of T&J then Neil or Gav will step up , possibly Michael Laverty ?

I didn't like it when he arrived and Toby left, but he's grown on me, so I'm sad to see him go.
Neil Hodgson is good though, however it'll never be the same as the heyday of Moody, Ryder, Mamola and Spalding.

Ben Edwards recently left Channel 4. But I don't think he's ever done bikes.

This lineup, though I do miss the American ( cannot remember his name ) who partnered Moody before Ryder. It me a while to warm to Ryder, he was still a WSB guy to my ear.

I also miss useful timing information during a race and could without all the useless camera angles that show nothing of a race; back of rider, helmet of a rider.

Do people actually like the shouty style of commentator? Irritates me in the extreme, can think of nothing worse than Edwards and his ilk, they start at 7 then quietly ramp up to a hysterical 11 for the finish, and that's just the warm up lap. As a sprog I wished Murray would STFU so Hunt could get a word in, nowadays I'm far happier listening to Neil Morrison's gentle drone than Steve Day's over exhuberant childish yelps.

I always like Keith, mainly because of the old days partnership with Julian on world super bikes, when foggy and co were at it day in day out.
But it looks like his failure to learn Fernandez’s first name in moto2 caught up with him!

I wonder if he needed to commit to the fly aways and he’s reluctant to do so? Fwiw, I can see next years MotoGP being held mainly in Europe. I think the fly always will start, but there will be pressure from the paddock to reduce it and make it more ‘local’, trucks and motor homes etc again. If on,y because anyone catching it potentially fks up their championship!

Anyway, I’ll miss Keith’s commentary, not always correct, (although he had a good ear for the out of shot crashes), but no one can argue he wasn’t enthusiastic!

I saw this too and my only thought was who is going to cheer on "Britain's John McPhee, John McPhee of Great Britain" and "Britain's Sam Lowes, Sam Lowes from Great Britain".. now..

I think it's a great shame. I love Keith's enthusiasm, although I won't miss his pronunciation of injun (engine). Used to love Keith and Jules back in the heyday of WSBK. I wonder if KH will pop up on BSB, he said he will be in the pit lane again soon and spending more time in the UK??

From his Tweet he kind of said he has really enjoyed spending time at home, he has been on the road most of his life and has a few kids, so one can understand it, but I do find that odd considering he hasn't really travelled anywhere other than to the BT tower or Triumph all year!! But I guess the travelling takes it out of you after decades as it did with Ryder.

So a but mystified, but I have always enjoyed Keith's commentary in whatever he did, early days of 500's, WSB during the great Foggy era and latterly BSB and GP racing. He gets excited but doesn't shout as much as modern comms do.

My dream team would just be Dennis Noyes, always full of news and anecdotes. Moody was an arrogant so and so who thought he was better than he was and was shown up a few times by riders which was hilarious! Doohan especially!! But that team was great with Randy and even Spalders later.

Not keen on "as it stands" Emmett, but not a bad choice he will get it surely as he was a comm for Dorna. For me Hodgson can go, Laverty is far superior and more relevant, recent and has better diction for commentating.
